For you of course, not the baby!

Cute pics...So happy for you guys!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15478986388528262552noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2141810784907213632.post-15629335967200413292010-01-27T12:01:52.339-08:002010-01-27T12:01:52.339-08:00Okay, so obviously I'm not a parenting parent,...Okay, so obviously I'm not a parenting parent, so take this for what it's worth :)

MUSIC.

Whatever works for your little one. (And something you can stand to listen to as well, haha!) With the kids in my family (that I watch - AND put to bed - quite often) I've found that it becomes part of the "ritual" and "routine" and is another helpful indicator that it's "night night time." We keep a CD player in the room and the SAME CD in at all times. The same song lulls the baby to bed and it is almost Pavlovian it seems!

Also, I've found this helpful when the place where the baby is sleeping changes. If Baby comes to my house to spend the night, things like the music and same routine help with that adjustment.

Just my thoughts :)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2141810784907213632.post-86161911701598562052010-01-22T11:31:31.772-08:002010-01-22T11:31:31.772-08:00Such a cute post! We...Such a cute post! I love the numbered picture.

Well, clearly Ellie likes her car seat since it's a cozy spot...but I've found recently that she likes something against her face, so even in her crib I give her this little half blankie/half stuffed animal giraffe that she loves. When she's putting "herself" to sleep, she pulls it over her face and next thing you know, she's out!

But, as you said....suffocation! alert! alert! So I neurotically check on her and when I think she's really out I pull it away - which often then wakes her up!Leighhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07578872366867741463noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2141810784907213632.post-83534249690071107972010-01-22T07:02:08.922-08:002010-01-22T07:02:08.922-08:00The noise thing... oh, yes. I've read that the...The noise thing... oh, yes. I've read that the noise level babies hear in utero is akin to that of a vacuum at full force. I've had almost 100% success by holding the babes close and making a rhythmic shhh shhh shhh sound right in their ears. Time it with a gently sway, and it's a slam dunk.
Congratulations, again. So happy for you!Sally Bacchettahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14765341603688023981noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2141810784907213632.post-2921806506424176982010-01-22T06:13:14.683-08:002010-01-22T06:13:14.683-08:00Well, by now you know me... as soon as you mention...Well, by now you know me... as soon as you mentioned Karp I had nothing to say. We lived by those methods and Henry has always been a really calm content baby that started sleeping through the night at 5 weeks.
I don't miss a chance to tell someone about it.
Happiest Toddler on the Block is an equally entertaining DVD, though you have some time before you'll be needing that. Doing good mommy!
Lisa T.Lisa T.https://www.blogger.com/profile/07458511810640542071noreply@blogger.com
